My love of photography and oil painting are combined in my pictures. Often what I "see" in my view finder can't be completely captured by the camera, so I use post processing to express my vision of what I saw in my mind's eye when I pressed the shutter release. The Luminist, Tonalist, and Impressionist styles of painting guide my work in post, but I also allow images to go in the direction they want to go. This can yield results that are less painterly and more abstract or graphic.

I don't interpret all my pictures as paintings. Sometimes, I take photographs that do capture my vision and are best seen with minimal post processing.

I started drawing at age 7, got my first SLR in 8th grade, received formal education in graphic design as an adult, and spent 12+ years as a visual effects artist in Hollywood.
